The Oberlin Orchestra and conservatory choral ensembles—Oberlin College Choir, Gospel Choir, and Musical Union—feature a performance of the 1932 oratorio, The Ordering of Moses, by R. Nathaniel Dett, a Canadian-American composer of African descent and a 1908 graduate of Oberlin Conservatory.
Highlighted oratorio soloists will be soprano Chabrelle Williams ’09, mezzo-soprano Ronnita Miller, tenor Limmie Pulliam ’98, and baritone Eric Greene.
The Oberlin Orchestra will also perform A Metaphor for Power by ASCAP award-winning composer Iván Enrique Rodríguez, as well as Johannes Brahms’ Tragic Overture.
The performance will be conducted by Oberlin Conservatory Professor Raphael Jiménez.
